Invest a little bit of time taking this short quiz to measure your optimism level and gain a better understanding of your explanatory style! My recommendation is to take the quiz online, but record your answers on a hard copy, print the results and READ THEM THOROUGHLY.

Then, go back and retake the test with the goal of making your optimism score increase. Do this until you are successful at increasing your score by at least 2 points. This will give you clearer insight into what thoughts and situations in your daily life could use a shot of optimism.
